Schmetz Sewing Machine Needles - Assorted Stretch

Pack of 5 assorted size stretch sewing machine needles, compatible with all types of domestic, household sewing machines.

This assortment includes: 3 x 70/10 & 2 x 90/14.

The stretch needle has a medium ball point, smaller eye, and a deep scarf. The unique design of the scarf and eye prevents skipped stitches and the ball point tip helps to prevent thread damage and holes.

This needle is suited for use on highly elastic knits, especially if the fibre content includes Lycra®, Spandex, or elastic.

This needle is suitable for stitching on highly elasticated jersey knit fabrics:

Lightweight Viscose & Bamboo Jersey, Lycra Dancewear, Silk Jersey, Swimwear, Elastic.

Choosing the right size needle for your project is crucial for a smooth, professional finish. Using a needle that is too thick will create a large hole in your fabric, and choosing one that is too small increases the risk of bending or snapping when sewing. The goal is to have the needle slide easily through the fabric without damaging the fibers, and to carry the thread smoothly without causing damage to your project. Typically needle sizes range from 60/8 (the finest) to 120/19 (the largest). We recommend to replace your needle after 8 hours of use and at the beginning of each project. Replacing your machine needle is the easiest way to improve stitch quality!
