Traditional Kilt Weight Wool Twill - National Cornish Tartan

Crafted in Otley, West Yorkshire, this fabric is made using traditional British weaving techniques, ensuring outstanding quality. At 16oz (500glm, 335gsm), it’s the official weight for kilts, offering the perfect balance of structure, durability, and movement. The pure wool twill weave gives it a soft yet substantial feel, making it an excellent choice for kilts, skirts, jackets, or classic suiting. Naturally insulating yet breathable, this fabric is designed to last, making it a timeless investment for lovers of tradition and craftsmanship.

Cornish National Tartan was the first Cornish tartan. Each colour symbolises an aspect of the county's heritage. Black and gold were the colours of the Kings of Cornwall, the red is for the beak and legs of the Cornish Chough. At the centre of the tartan design is the St Piran's flag, surrounded by the blue representing the Atlantic.
