Worbla Moldable Thermoplastic
Worbla’s Finest Art is a heat activated, mouldable sheet plastic, brown in colour with an orange peel like texture. It’s non toxic and can be shaped by hand without requiring special safety gear. Made from renewable natural raw materials including some wood.
When heated, Worbla becomes pliable, adhesive and mouldable – simply mould into the desired shape and allow to cool. It is easy to cut with normal scissors when in sheet form but can also be laser cut to create detailed shapes. It will stick to itself as well as wax paper, aluminium foil, and any plastic you have around. Once cool again it returns to its hard, stable state. Worbla plastics can be heated endlessly and have no shelf life and require no specialised tools or ventilation. It can then be painted with just about any paint, wax or finish. We suggest heating with a hot air heat gun, but you can also use hot water, an iron or even a hairdryer.
