Retail Assistant
We are looking for a friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic Retail Assistant to join our team at Truro Fabrics. This is a varied, hands-on role within our busy fabric and haberdashery shop, where you will support customers with their sewing and crafting projects, provide expert product recommendations and help create a welcoming and inspiring shopping experience.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for sewing, dressmaking or crafts, with the confidence to advise customers on fabrics, patterns and project requirements. You will be a positive and approachable communicator who enjoys helping people, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and works well as part of a team. This role combines customer service, merchandising, stock management and sales, so a practical, organised and adaptable approach is essential.
You will be joining a friendly, creative environment where no two days are the same, supporting customers and colleagues across our store while developing your knowledge of fabrics, haberdashery and the wider world of making.
Digital Marketing Assistant
We are looking for a creative, organised and enthusiastic Junior Marketing Assistant to join our team at Truro Fabrics. Working closely with our eCommerce & Marketing Manager, this role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across digital marketing, content creation, e-commerce and customer engagement within a creative retail environment.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for sewing, fabrics and creativity, with an interest in developing their marketing skills. You will help create engaging product content, support blog writing, produce photo and video content for our website and social media channels, and take ownership of a secondary social media platform. This role combines creative projects with practical administrative tasks, including updating our website, responding to customer enquiries and supporting the wider team with order fulfilment.
We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, takes initiative and enjoys working collaboratively as part of a friendly team. Strong writing skills, attention to detail and confident communication are essential, along with a willingness to get involved in photography and video content. Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, social media, Shopify or basic SEO would be an advantage, but enthusiasm and a desire to grow your skills are just as important.
