The Jo Dress + Jumpsuit sewing pattern by Closet Core Patterns is a striking modern design with sculptural details and a beautifully architectural silhouette. At the heart of the pattern is its distinctive V-neck bodice with signature rounded "croissant" sleeves, available in two sizes for either a bold statement or a more understated look. Clever construction details, including the unique bias-bound slot seam finish, add structure and a beautifully refined finish.

Create View A, an elegant midi dress with a straight-cut skirt, centre front slit and practical curved pockets, or View B, a contemporary jumpsuit with tapered legs and the same beautifully shaped bodice. Front darts provide subtle shaping, while elastic through the back waist ensures a comfortable fit without compromising the clean silhouette. Both views are finished with a centre back zip and fabric zip pull.

Designed for midweight woven fabrics, this independent paper sewing pattern works best in fabrics with enough body to support the sculptural sleeve while still offering a little drape through the skirt or trouser legs. The result is a garment with strong, contemporary lines and an effortlessly wearable fit.

Suitable for intermediate sewists, the Jo pattern is a rewarding project that introduces techniques including shaped sleeves, zip insertion, darts and Closet Core's distinctive slot seam finish. The detailed instructions guide you through each step, making it an enjoyable sew with a striking finished result.

A contemporary dress and jumpsuit pattern that combines bold design with thoughtful construction for a truly standout handmade garment.

Skill Level: Intermediate

The Jo Dress + Jumpsuit is designed for stable midweight woven fabrics that provide enough structure to support the sculptural sleeves and clean lines of the design. Linen, cotton broadcloth, cotton sateen, ikat and chambray are all excellent choices, while lightweight denim and twill also work beautifully, provided they have a little drape. Avoid overly soft or fluid fabrics, as the design relies on structure to achieve its distinctive silhouette.
