Seaside Stripe is a deadstock lace rib knit fabric made in Spain, featuring stripes of ivory, navy, sky blue and yellow. The colourway has a classic coastal feel, balanced by the lightweight, open structure of the knit.
This is a lace weight yarn fabric made from a 50% cotton and 50% polyester blend. It has the soft handle and natural look of cotton with the added practicality of polyester, which improves durability and helps the fabric dry quickly. It is a perfect choice for holiday wear, beach cover ups and warm-weather sewing.
The fabric is constructed in a fine 2x1 rib knit with a tuck stitch pattern that creates open lace holes throughout the surface. These holes are formed by holding stitches for an extra row before knitting them through, producing a delicate openwork effect with visible floating yarns. The finish is intricate and crochet-like, but created through machine knitting rather than handwork.
Because there is no elastane in the yarn, the fabric has moderate stretch but limited recovery. It is best used for relaxed silhouettes where the natural drape and texture of the knit can be the focus.
Suitable for beach cover ups, loose dresses, shorts, wide leg trousers and lightweight layering pieces. It also works well for cuffs and trims where a textured knit detail is needed.

We do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible in our photography, however colours can vary between screens and devices. Colours may appear slightly different in person due to monitor calibration, lighting conditions, and the nature of photographic reproduction.
If you are unsure about a colour, we recommend ordering a fabric sample before purchasing.
