The Jasika Blazer is designed for medium to heavyweight woven fabrics that hold their shape beautifully. Traditional suiting fabrics create a timeless tailored finish, while textured fabrics add character and depth.

For the lining, choose lightweight fabrics such as rayon Bemberg, charmeuse, crepe de chine or cotton voile. Pocket bags are best made from sturdy cotton fabrics including quilting cotton, shirting or muslin.

To complete the Jasika Blazer you will need:

  • Fusible weft interfacing (1.5 yd / 1.4m)
  • Fusible knit interfacing (1 yd / 0.8m)
  • Horsehair canvas (¼ yd / 0.25m)
  • Polyester thread
  • Cotton stay tape (¼" wide × 2.5 yd / 2.4m)
  • Shoulder pads (¼"–⅜" thick)
  • Sleeve heads or lambswool/cotton batting
  • 1 lapel button (¾" / 19mm)
  • 1 clear internal button
  • Optional: 6 sleeve buttons (⅝" / 16mm)
  • Optional: Leather or suede for elbow patches
  • Optional: Topstitching thread
  • Optional: Silk basting thread
  • Marking tool or tailor's chalk
  • Hand sewing needles and thimble
