A really good black jersey is the sewing equivalent of finding the perfect pair of jeans: endlessly useful and guaranteed to earn its keep. This one gives you the softness and comfort you want from an everyday T-shirt, with enough stretch to keep things easy.

Made from 95% GOTS-certified organic cotton and 5% elastane, this 200gsm jersey has an exceptionally soft, bouncy handle. The elastane adds excellent stretch recovery, that all-important ping-back that helps your finished garment keep its shape through wearing and washing.

We'd make any version of the Wardrobe By Me Wardrobe Builder T-shirt, a WBM fitted Bralette or a whole collection of wardrobe basics. And if you're new to sewing jersey, black is a very forgiving place to start: simple, useful and impossible to regret.
