Organic Washed Cotton Jumbo Gingham Fabric - Orchid

Orchid is a soft pale purple-pink and white jumbo gingham with a generous 27mm check that gives the classic pattern a fresh, graphic feel. The gentle purple has a lovely softness to it, while the larger check gives the colourway plenty of presence in a finished garment.

Made from organic cotton, it has a cosy, substantial handle similar to a fine cotton flannel, without the brushed surface. It remains breathable enough for year-round wear, while the gently washed, crinkled finish gives the fabric relaxed texture and an easy, lived-in feel.

The check is woven from dyed threads rather than printed, giving the purple lovely depth and making both sides look equally good. We’d make Orchid into an oversized shirt, gathered midi dress, wide-leg trousers or a statement pinafore. It would also make a brilliant boxy overshirt or chore jacket.
