Fehr Trade - PDF Sewing Pattern - Rouleur Leggings

The Fehr Trade Rouleur Leggings sewing pattern is a versatile cycling and activewear sewing pattern designed for women who want close-fitting leggings and cycling shorts built for movement. With interchangeable leg lengths, waist styles and pocket options, you can create eight different combinations to suit different sports and activities.

View A features full-length or shorter legs, a wide waistband and two generously sized side pockets. The curvy cut follows the shape of your muscles, while the lack of inseams helps reduce opportunities for chafing during exercise.

View B replaces the waistband with a halter-style cycling bib, with a banded shorts hem and stretchy cargo pockets. The halter-style design is particularly practical for cycling, allowing the straps to be pulled over your head when you need a comfort break without removing your cycling jersey or jacket. The bib shorts can also be worn with an optional chamois pad.

The different leg lengths, waist styles and pocket configurations can be mixed and matched, giving you eight possible versions from one cycling leggings sewing pattern. The waistband is also interchangeable with the waistband from the Fehr Trade Tenacity Leggings pattern.

The Rouleur Leggings are drafted with negative ease for a close fit similar to ready-to-wear compression styles. The pattern requires stretch fabric with excellent recovery, with at least 50% stretch in both directions. The shorts hem finishes 12cm (4 3/4in) above the knee.

The pattern includes fully illustrated instructions and diagrams for common fit adjustments, including guidance for the pattern's unusual seamlines. Layered PDFs are supplied in A4, US Letter, A0 and 36-inch-wide Copy Shop formats, plus a projector-optimised file.

The pattern was developed by a long-distance runner and sewist and was road-tested by the designer and a team of fellow fit sewists. During development, the designer cycled the 100-mile RideLondon 100 wearing a version of these shorts.
