This collection of miniature felt ornaments turns familiar sewing tools and notions into decorations you can make yourself – perfect for sewists who would rather have a spool of thread on the tree than another bauble!

There are four sewing-themed designs to make: a seam ripper, tomato pincushion, sewing machine and spool of thread. Each ornament is designed to be a fairly accurate representation of the real object that inspired it, just simplified, smaller and a little more 2-D so it can work as a Christmas decoration.

You can make these felt Christmas ornaments as sew or no-sew projects, depending on how you want to finish them. Each design is built from several felt layers to create the finished look. Double-sided adhesive is used to hold the layers together, and you can then add sewing machine stitches if you'd like to bring some extra stitched detail to your ornaments.
