Silk Dupion Fabric - Cornish Hunting Tartan

A 100% silk dupion fabric woven in the Cornish Hunting Tartan design, a deeper, more subdued interpretation of the Cornish National Tartan. Rich shades of green, red and gold sit alongside the black and white of St Piran’s flag, creating a cloth that feels both ceremonial and grounded.

The Hunting Tartan variation was introduced in 1984 as a darker alternative, designed to reflect the practical, muted tones traditionally associated with hunting tartans while preserving the symbolism of Cornwall’s heritage. Black and gold reference Cornwall’s ancient kings, red represents the Cornish chough, and blue nods to the surrounding seas.

Woven in silk dupion, this fabric has a natural slub texture and a crisp, structured handle. Machine woven for a slightly smoother finish, it remains firm and architectural, holding pleats, gathers and tailored shapes beautifully.
