Create elegant handmade lingerie and loungewear with the Closet Core Patterns Simone Slip Dress and Camisole PDF Sewing Pattern. This downloadable sewing pattern is a modern take on the classic slip, featuring a bias-cut design that creates a flattering drape and comfortable fit that moves with the body.

The Simone Slip includes three variations: a simple camisole, an above-the-knee slip dress and a midi-length slip dress. Each version features a deep V neckline, pieced bodice and adjustable rouleau straps, with options for a low back or a mid-back for added coverage.

For an extra special finish, add the optional lace panel detail for additional bust coverage. This versatile women's sewing pattern is a great opportunity to work with beautiful drapey fabrics and create handmade pieces that feel just as good as they look.

Designed for intermediate sewists, the Simone Slip is an ideal project for developing confidence with bias-cut sewing techniques. Choose lightweight, fluid fabrics such as viscose, silk crepe, satin, chiffon or lightweight linen to achieve the soft drape this pattern is designed for.

For the best results, choose lightweight, fluid woven fabrics with good drape. Recommended fabrics include: Silk crepe, Satin, Chiffon, Georgette, Viscose, Rayon challis. If you are new to sewing on the bias, avoid very slippery fabrics such as silk charmeuse and satin until you feel more confident. Lightweight woven fabrics with an open weave, such as linen and cotton gauze, can also work well. Avoid dense, structured fabrics as they will not provide the soft drape and movement this pattern is designed for. For the optional lace panel, use stretch or rigid lace with a scalloped edge, at least 4" (10cm) wide.
