Paradise Patterns - PDF Sewing Pattern - Solig Dress

The Paradise Patterns Solig Dress is a simple woven dress with a sleek silhouette and plenty of options to customise the fit and finish. Choose between two back designs, make it mini or maxi length, and add optional side seam slits for a different look.

Both views have a gently curved front neckline, thin shoulder straps and side seam bust darts for shaping. The neckline is finished with a facing that covers the full bust, with the option to add elastic along the facing hem to create a low-support built-in bralette.

View A has an elasticated back, giving a more secure fit around the bust. View B has a slightly scooped, gathered back with tie fastenings for a softer finish.

The pattern includes useful techniques such as sewing French seams, creating elastic channels and French seam side slits, as well as turning narrow fabric straps.

Fabric choice makes a big difference to the finished dress. Choose linen or cotton for an easy summer style, crepe for a smarter evening dress, or rayon and Tencel for a softer, drapier finish. If you're using a thicker fabric for the dress, such as linen, consider a lighter-weight matching fabric for the neckline facing and optional bralette.
