Fehr Trade - PDF Sewing Pattern - Steeplechase Leggings

The Steeplechase Leggings sewing pattern from Fehr Trade puts an interesting spin on classic activewear leggings. Instead of traditional inseams, the pattern uses a distinctive curved outer seam that runs from the back of the ankle up towards the centre front, joining a separate yoke piece.

The leggings have an elasticated waistband and an optional hidden back pocket, with three length options to suit different activities and seasons: biker shorts, capri leggings or full-length leggings. The biker short hem finishes 13cm (5in) above the knee, while the capri hem finishes 8cm (3 1/4in) below the knee.

The pattern is suitable for Intermediate sewists, with some experience sewing stretch knits recommended. It requires stretch jersey with good recovery and is drafted with negative ease, meaning the finished garment is approximately 90% of your body measurements for a close-fitting activewear fit.

The unusual seamlines are supported by a Common Fit Adjustments guide, with diagrams showing how to make typical fitting adjustments alongside the fully illustrated sewing instructions.

The pattern includes 1cm seam allowances throughout, except at the waistband edge where a 4cm allowance is included for the elastic. A 2cm hem allowance is included.
