The JULIANA MARTEJEVS Margo Dress PDF Sewing Pattern is an easy summer dress sewing pattern for creating a beautiful, versatile sundress with a classic milkmaid-inspired look. Designed with beginners in mind, this downloadable sewing pattern is a great project for learning new dressmaking techniques while creating a stylish addition to your handmade wardrobe.

The Margo Dress features a shirred waist, gathered full skirt and delicate straps, creating an airy silhouette that is both comfortable and flattering. The bodice has 20cm (8in) of positive ease around the bust before being shaped to your measurements with elastic shirring. The skirt can be made in either a short or long length, giving you two options from the same dressmaking pattern.

The Margo is designed for woven fabrics without stretch, with lightweight cotton poplin being a suggested example. It is a particularly useful project if you would like to learn how to make bias binding, gather fabric and create a shirred or smocked effect using elastic.

The pattern is available in sizes XS–XXXL as a printable PDF sewing pattern in DIN A4 and US Letter formats. It includes an ebook with material details, a fabric-saving lay plan and styling suggestions, alongside written and illustrated instructions in German, English and French. A detailed video sewing tutorial is also available in German with English and French subtitles, allowing you to sew along step by step with Juliana.

The Margo Dress PDF sewing pattern is designed for woven fabric without stretch. The designer recommends:

  • Woven fabric with a width of 1.45m (1 3/5 yd)
  • As an example, the designer uses 100% cotton poplin with a weight of 130g/sqm.

Fabric requirements are as follows:

  • Short length: XS–S: 2.15m (2 1/3 yd) | M–XL: 2.25m (2 7/16 yd) | XXL–XXXL: 2.30m (2 1/2 yd)
  • Long length: XS–S: 2.45m (2 2/3 yd) | M–XL: 2.65m (2 7/8 yd) | XXL–XXXL: 2.75m (3 yd)

To make the Margo Dress, you will need:
