The Leah Top + Dress by Tilly and the Buttons is a versatile sewing pattern packed with stylish wardrobe options. With four different variations included, you can sew a simple shift top, minimalist mini dress, gathered peplum top or floaty tiered midi dress - perfect for building a handmade wardrobe you’ll wear again and again.

Featuring a semi-fitted sleeveless bodice with gentle A-line shaping, bust darts and a keyhole back fastening, Leah combines clean lines with soft feminine details. The peplum top and tiered dress variations also include optional side ties for an extra playful finish.

This independent sewing pattern is ideal for light to medium weight woven dressmaking fabrics such as cotton lawn, linen, chambray, viscose and lightweight blends. The relaxed silhouette and easy fit make it perfect for summer sewing projects and everyday handmade outfits.

Suitable for confident beginners, the Leah sewing pattern is a great introduction to techniques such as bias binding and button loop closures, with clear step-by-step instructions throughout.

The shift dress works best in medium-weight woven fabrics that hold their shape, such as linen, cotton twill, lightweight canvas, or jacquard. For the other versions, use light- to medium-weight woven fabrics such as cotton poplin, lawn, seersucker, double gauze, linen and blends, viscose (rayon).
