Vintage Casein Button Tulip
We love these chunky statement buttons in plain ivory. These sweet tulip shaped buttons were designed by fashion legend Jean Muir circa 1980. Made from casein – which is actually milk protein – these buttons are chunky and hard-wearing with a lovely, glossy sheen.

A bit more about Casein:
Casein is the protein element naturally occurring in milk. Cured and hardened in sheets or rods, milk casein became a staple for button making. It was first produced in the UK as far back as 1910. Casein is a really versatile substance which can be dyed and polished with amazing results. Casein buttons perform like the conventional polyester buttons; robust, hard-wearing and washable time and time again.
