Washed Cotton Jumbo Corduroy - Damson Jam

Deep, moody and just the right side of red, Damson Jam is a rich purple that feels made for crisp mornings and winter wardrobes. It's a proper colour, but surprisingly easy to wear.

This 100% cotton washed jumbo corduroy has chunky 4.5-wale ribs for plenty of tactile texture and a substantial 283gsm weight, making it ideal for corduroy trousers, jackets and pinafores. The washed finish softens the cotton beautifully, giving it an inviting handle and subtle worn-in charm that makes it a pleasure to work with. It still has enough drape to keep relaxed styles moving nicely, while the natural breathability and durability of cotton make it comfortable for everyday wear.

We'd make high-waisted wide-leg trousers with a fine knit tucked in, or an oversized jacket for throwing over dresses and jeans.

Sewing tips: use a slightly longer stitch length so your machine glides over the ribs, press from the wrong side or with a cloth to protect the pile, and take extra care to match ribs on seams if desired.
